it’s a perfect week-after-thanksgiving-break pick me up.
Jeremy and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and I hope that all of you did as well.
1- Jeremy and I ran in Nashville’s 5 mile Boulevard Bolt on Thanksgiving morning with about 8,000 other people.
2- Got my first Starbuck’s red Christmas cup. Caramel Brulee Latte is my favorite.
3- My mom’s beautiful Thanksgiving decorations.
4- Thanksgiving FEAST.
1 & 2- My babies, Willa and Duke. They snuggled up with me to watch the last half of the Macy’s Thanskgiving Day Parade and the Purina Dog Show. Willa and I were very upset that the Weimaraner didn’t even place. Oh well, there’s always next year.
3- Jer enjoying a s’mores at our bonfire with some friends.
4- Game time. Apples to Apples is my favorite. And I would like everyone to know that I won. Twice.
We loved spending time with our families and are so excited about the start of the Christmas season. My focus is now on getting our tree (a real one, of course!) and putting up my decorations!!
hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving. jamie and i stayed in waco for –our first time making thanksgiving dinner. well, jamie made most of it, i kind of helped- you know the important jobs like mixing and taste testing. i was kind of worried about how the turkey was going to turn out, but it was golden brown perfection. pretty impressed with jamie’s cooking skills. other than cooking dinner- we just relaxed. we spent time with penny and snuggle up on the couch to watch super 8 (which was awesome!) –i also took jamie to see breaking dawn. waco pretty much clears out during summers, but especially during the holidays. so, its nice for places to not be super crowded. i also started decorating for christmas. when i was at home, i hardly ever,–ok, ok, never helped decorate. so, i’ve been trying my hand at a few things. we’ll see how they turn out. i’ll keep you posted.
here’s a little peek at our long weekend:
meet the newest addition to the mcgregor household: PENELOPE.
We also call her Penny and Boo. She is the sweetest most snuggly baby girl there ever was.
She is and isn’t like most cats- she loves to talk to us and make us laugh hysterically — but the best is when she jumps up on my lap and take a little cat nap. She loves to snuggle, eat, pounce on her toy mice (and us) and sneak into the fire place. and her latest- unravel the entire roll of toilet paper.
Penny is pretty much the perfect kitten for us. She’s the best.
oh, and did i mention she loves to blog– little blogger in the making. haha.
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.
We will be signing off for the weekend so that we can spend some quality time with our friends and family.
Enjoy the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, pecan and pumpkin pie, and turkey.
Enjoy the holiday,
Mary and Adair

One of my favorite things in all the world is biscotti. It is a yummy, crunchy cookie.
I have a week spot for almonds and citrus. That is why this recipe is my absolute favorite. Your house will be engulfed in the smell of almond, lemon, and cookies. It goes perfectly with coffee or tea. Or, it’s so dang good you can eat it all by itself.
So go ahead and bake a batch up. Put your tea kettle on, go grab those comfy sweat pants that you throw to the back of your closet, and put on a classic movie (any Harry Potter will do). You won’t regret it.
